I began to paint the grid in 2011, in response to an inner calling for structure, order, and serenity. Working with the grids was a healing and meditative practice for me at a time in my life that I was going through some challenging personal growth.  Devoting myself to painting or drawing each unit of the grid, one at a time, was like a prayer, a mantra, a chant for healing and peace. At the end of 2015, I felt it was time to move on, that the grids had performed their sacred task; they were complete, and I was ready to pursue a new direction.
